- Short Bio:Steven J. Levine is an Associate Regional Director in the Chicago Regional Office (CHRO) of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Levine directs the CHRO’s Investment Adviser and Investment Company Examination Program. Prior to joining the CHRO’s exam program in 2011, Mr. Levine was a trial counsel for the SEC for approximately a decade. Before joining the SEC, Mr. Levine was a Senior Trial Attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Chicago from 1994 to 2000. He received the Frank J. McGarr Award from the Chicago Federal Bar Association in 1999 for excellence in providing legal services on behalf of the United States Government. Mr. Levine began his legal career in New York as an associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1991 and his B.A. from Cornell University in 1986.
