Judy Weinstock
Judith A. Weinstock is an Assistant Regional Director for the New York Regional Office (NYRO) of the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Enforcement. In that role, Judy supervises the investigation and litigation of Enforcement cases related to the Securities Act, the Exchange Act, and the Investment Advisers Act. In addition, Judy is responsible for managing the team that triages the tips, complaints, and referrals for NYRO’s Enforcement Division. Judy also serves as a liaison to NYRO’s Examinations Division as well as a liaison to outside regulatory agencies and criminal law enforcement. In addition, Judy supervises NYRO’s collections and FOIA work, as well as NYRO’s Investor Assistance work. Judy is also Chair of NYRO’s Investor Outreach Committee. Judy is also Co-Chair of NYRO Enforcement’s Hiring Committee and a member of NYRO’s Diversity Committee. Judy has worked at the SEC since 2014.
Prior to the SEC, Judy worked for 17 years as an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY). In her last role at DANY, Judy served as the Deputy Bureau Chief of the Major Economic Crimes Bureau (MECB). Judy has conducted investigations into and prosecutions of white collar criminal cases including securities fraud, sanctions evasion, Ponzi schemes, money laundering, tax fraud, embezzlement, enterprise corruption and real estate fraud. Prior to joining MECB, Judy worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Trial Division, where she prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases, ranging from narcotics sales to homicides.
Judy is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the George Washington University Law School.
