Kami Niebank

Kami Niebank is the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for CalPERS. In 2015, she joined Enterprise Compliance where she built a multiyear Compliance Plan, reorganized the compliance program and launched the implementation of the compliance transformation. Her current focus is strengthening the investment compliance and ethics programs. Prior to joining Compliance, she held various leadership roles at CalPERS, including the Investment Chief of Policy and Operations and the Chief of Strategic Management Services.

Over Kami’s career, she has led many organizational transformation efforts and is well-versed in compliance and business management practices and principles. She received her MBA, with a concentration in Financial Planning, from California Lutheran University. In 2016, Compliance Week named Kami as one of the Top Minds, representing thought leaders in ethics and compliance. In 2021, she co-authored an article for the Journal of Financial Compliance.
